A man, Folorunsho Omoniyi, was on Tuesday arraigned before a Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo, the Osun State capital for allegedly stealing 500 bags of cement.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Abiodun Fagboyinbo intimated the court that the accused, sometime in the year 2014 at Oke-Fia area of Osogbo stole 500 bags of cement, with the market value of one million and seventy five thousand Naira.

According to Fagboyinbo, the cements belong to the duo of Hammed Salami and Kayode Falore.

He added that the accused person, with an intention to steal obtained the cement under false pretence of paying the complainants within a week, which eventually turned out to be false.

He argued that the offences committed by the accused contravened sections 419,390,of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Volume II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.

While the accused pleaded not guilty to the 2-count charge preferred against him, his counsel, Mr. Nagite Okobe applied for bail on his behalf in the most liberal terms, assuring the court that the accused would not abuse bail privilege if granted.
