A former Secretary to the Osun State Government, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, has said severe hunger being experienced by many Nigerians was caused by economic recession.

Akinbade said this in a lecture he delivered at the investiture of Anthony Obiyemi as the 11th president of the Osogbo Living Spring Lions Club.

A 24-year-old Imran Olalekan who is a security guard and acclaimed Peace Corp Member at Saint Charles High School, Osogbo has been arrested by the police for allegedly forcefully raping a 17-year-old Senior Secondary School 1 female student of the school. he allegedly raped the victim inside one of the offices allocated to PCN men working in the school and warned her not to tell anybody about the criminal act, saying that she would die if she does.
