The strike embarked upon by labour unions recorded partial success in Osogbo on Thursday as workers stayed away from government offices.

Public schools and courts were also closed in compliance with the directive of the Nigeria Labour Congress on the strike but private businesses did not join and there was the usual vehicular movement across the state.

Daily times today Wednesday reported that the State house of assembly is given a recommendation to the Government on some sacked teaching and non-academic staffs of the state owned tertiary institutions. It was the management of some state owned Polytechnic that disengaged about 204 from their services.
